President's Message
The Barrie Skating Club (BSC) is a non-profit Skate Canada sanctioned organization that has been instructing Barrie and area youth for over 60 years. The BSC operates out of the City of Barrie’s Allandale Recreation Centre and is run by a volunteer Board of Directors, along with parent volunteers. Our club’s skaters range in age from 3 to young adults, and are enrolled in beginner (CanSkate) to competitive (StarSkate/Competitive Skate) programs, as well as PowerSkate programs for those wishing to build skating skills for hockey.
The BSC will be continuing implementation of Skate Canada's very successful newly revised CanSkate (learn to skate) program under the direction of our coordinator Azure Dee Perkins. We continue to work with the City of Barrie in operating CanSkate out of the Allandale Recreation Centre, East Bayfield Community Centre and the Holly Community Centre. All Skate Canada programs are run by certified coaches.
From purely recreational programs to competitive programs, child to young adult, hockey enthusiast to figure skater, learning to skate can be fun, healthy, and inspiring, at Skate Canada’s Barrie Skating Club.
